PhET is my favorite! (Click on the image to the left and you will be directed to the website. You will find dozens of interactive science (biology, chemistry, and physics) and math simulations. Under the "Teacher Resources" tab you will find teacher-designed lab instructions, homework assignments and lecture notes for the simulations. I have included links below to some of the simulations and activities that go with them.

Glenco has great interactive labs on a variety of topics. Each lab has written instruction, a short video segment, a student journaling section with questions, and a place to record their observations. The instruction and the places for student response are printable. The links below take you to a public LiveBinders website.
Click on the Classzone picture above to go to the website. After you enter your state and choose a textbook, you will find a variety of interactive activities and resources for grades 6-12.

Why use virtual labs?
Science, by its nature, is interactive. Whenever possible, all students should USE REAL LAB EQUIPMENT IN A REAL LABORATORY!! But sometimes there are reasons why you cannot do a real lab. Reasons like this:
- no equipment
- no money in the budget
- no scheduled time for labs
Virtual labs can be used in these circumstances and others. Here are some links to what people are saying about virtual labs.
